In 2006, we started Wollongong's first yoga studio and the beginnings of a thriving yoga community. We discovered a way to bring our passions together for a fulfilling career and help others live a happier, healthier more balanced life.
We still teach around 350+ students each week, run international yoga retreats, and work with students one on one in a rehab context.
Along the way we built an online yoga program for pregnancy, had two gorgeous kids of our own and put the theory of yoga to the test to live a balanced family life.
With our expertise in Yoga, Exercise Physiology, Anatomy, Prenatal Yoga + consistent personal practice - this is a teacher training that is grounded in decades of professional and personal experience.
Let us share that experience with you.

Forget putting your life on hold for a whole month (like we had to)... or dragging out the process over a whole year. This training fits in and around your busy life takes place over 7 weekends then wraps up with a luxury retreat in Ubud.
Exercise Physiologist. Yogi. And master of the 'dad joke'.
After 14 years as a studio owner I'm thrilled to finally be sharing my knowledge as a yogi, clinician + functional fitness professional with you in an engaging and fun learning way.
From crippling back pain + failing High School... to ditching an unfullfilling career in the Navy and pursueing my passion for Exercise Physiology, teaching medical students and of course Yoga...
I'll lift the lid on what I've learned in my clinical work helping those with chronic pain, anxiety and depression, through to my work at the studio running classes, retreats & private lessons over the past 14 years + everything in between...
For me - yoga is a practice of strength, philosophy, mindfulness + treating your body well for a healthy, happy life. I'm a scientist by nature... I love to experiment.. so what I teach is grounded in research, years of self practice + results with my clients.
I'll share my tips on how to take the first steps to combine what you love doing for a sustainable career in helping others find better life balance, health + happiness.
My philosophy is simple... Life is too short and precious to be wasted doing something you hate.
When I was 6, my dad committed suicide (he was a Vietnam Veteran). So from an early age I had a sense that life is fleeting and we need to make the most of it. I put myself through uni, graduated with a job I hated so (naturally) I escaped overseas for a two and a half years to work and travel through Japan, Thailand, Nepal & India.
Soon after - I started practicing yoga. I felt an instant connection to the physical practice but was hooked by the glimpses of stillness and calm that yoga provided for my busy mind.
I was also surprised that my chronic asthma improved and I was able to manage the ups and downs of depression.
Younga Yoga was born from an idea that we wanted to create a space where people could balance the mind and body and connect with others in community.
As the first studio in Wollongong at the time - it was a big risk - Did people even want or 'need' this?
Our philosophy is that more than ever - effective self care happens when you are supported by and part of a strong community.
This is a training that will help you embrace your flaws, find your strengths + ask that you act with boundaries, ethics + continuous improvement for the service of others - skills you can apply to your own life, in teaching others, or as part of your job.
You'll learn how to sequence classes, correct alignment, build confidence + develop your leadership skills. You'll learn how to plan, break things down + develop greater self awareness.
With us as a team you'll get the perfect blend of light hearted humour, persistent practice, anatomical intelligence, business basics & a step by step approach for confident teaching with clarity and insight to creating a life of purpose.
Recently retired, had a baby, or find yourself between jobs? Even if you're not sure about teaching this training will guide you through a rare learning opportunity and chance to deepen your practice.
The world needs caring conscious community minded people who are students of life and ready to live and share the values of yoga on and off the mat. Is that you?
You'll develop a daily pranayama & meditation practice and greater self awareness.
Even if you never choose to 'teach' yoga - you'll gain a deeper understanding of what you bring to the world, develop confidence, leadership, communication + facilitation skills.
Be the change you want to see in the world for conscious living.
Are you already a yoga teacher - or want to become one? You want to teach yoga with confidence and a thorough understanding of alignment, sequencing & put all that into practice with confidence.
It's not all physical! We'll also develop a strong daily practice of meditation & pranayama, through to a science based approach to alignment & sequencing with confidence and clarity.
You'll learn how to teach beginners, yet offer challenges for your experienced students.
This is a training where science meets practice. Where you'll cover all the essential bases to teach classes with confidence, based on our 14 years experience as studio owners.
Develop your own practice and lead others confidently.
Are you a personal trainer, fitness professional, allied health professional or educator wanting to offer your clients more? Maybe you want to bring more mindfulness & better leadership skills to your work.
As a manager, health, fitness or education professional you're ready to take your professional skills to a new level & serve your students, clients + team more effectively.
This program is the perfect way to engage your love of learning + professional development.
With professional work experience across a number of settings (Education, Corporate, Medical, Health, Fitness, Business and Navy)... we can share ways to integrate your new skillset.
Get better results in your work + upskill with an integrated approach.
